Mission trip to Johor

I just got back from Johor today. How was the trip? hehe! Fantastic.. I really learned a lot during this trip.. so here is wat happened...

11 March
After the going to saint david's secondary school, we started our journey to Johor at around 3.. b4 that we stopped by the Mc Donald drive through at Ayer Keroh. Guess wat happened? haha! Aaron's car battery went flat.. Had to drive back to bukit beruang to get Mark's car. Things din really start out well haha! but we managed to reach Church Of Praise(Johor) at 6pm... Anyway, we were taking over the youth service that night.. so we settled down at the church n then the music team prepared rushed to do sound check. The youth service went ok.. Our theme for the trip was actually "strike the core". We prepared a short sketch about part of daniel's life n it was sort of an interactive thing.. We started the first part of the story and the youth we supposed to act the other parts of the story as well. Things went ok except that we were rushing through everything coz it was running late... the service finished at around 11pm. After everything... went makan.. coz we din really have time to eat dinner.. no one ate dinner.. except for ME! haha! hungry ma.. :P


12 March
Woke up at 6 something to get ready bcoz we were supposed to join the church's prayer meeting at 8am. We went for breakfast after that. I think most of us were really tired.. so after breakfast some of us took a short nap, while a few others were preparing some stuff for the kid's service in the afternoon. Most of us were really busy n we totally forgot to go n eat lunch but Solomon's parents tah paued lunch for us... hehe! so nice..
The kid's service started at 2.30pm.. we started of with Aaron leading the praise n worship. The praise n worship was really fun.. feels nice to be a kid again haha! The lyrics of the songs were so simple n meaningful.. i was really touched. It actually made me see how i have sometimes made things so complicated when it actually was just so simple... yeah! the kid's service went ok.. Mark told them a story about Jesus calling his first disciples who were fisherman. After that we did some craft thing... Me and aaron joined in to have fun.. we did our own fish as well but i dunno who took mine. i lost it.. haha! It was fun being around kids.. helping them out with doing their own fish.
We also took over the bi-lingual service that night. During the praise and worship that night, both the guitar's string broke at the same time n the whole guitar went out of tune.... since Jason was worship leading i guess he couldn't do much bout his guitar so he put his guitar down while Justin quickly rushed to the back to change the guitar strings and retune the string..
After that Ps. Joanne preached that night about working out ur salvation with fear and trembling.. yeah!

"Therefore, my dear friends, as you have always obeyed–not only in my presence, but now much more in my absence–continue to work out your salvation with fear and trembling, for it is God who works in you to will and to act according to his good purpose. "

13 March
We woke up 6 something also coz we had to evacuate the place b4 8. They were going to use the place for the prayer meeting again. This time was for the chinese section.. so we din join them. We had our breakfast downstairs n then after that we prepared for the main service on that day that was at 9.30am. We really prayed hard b4 the service.. n the service went great! I think the past 2 days God was teaching us not to rely on our own strength.. but learning to surrender all to Him. The praise and worship on that day was really awesome.. the spirit of God was there
After that we ate bak kut teh for lunch haha! We headed to Solomon's hse after that n had a meeting there.. n all of us shared bout how we felt n wat we have learned. We stayed at Solomon's hse until about 6pm.. then Solomon's dad took us to dinner... We ate seafood man... wuhuuu!!!!! haha! nice food! We left for melaka at around 8.30 after dinner... n we stopped a few times at the highway. It was sort of like a small picnic la.. we had ice cream n fruits n i had fried chicken as well on the way haha! We finally reached home at around 11 something...
